Microsoft Lumia 535* Review | Abi Street

I was recently contacted by the lovely people at Connects who asked me if I would like to review the Microsoft Lumia 535*. I was over the moon from receiving this email and obviously said yes!

Now, it is so hard now to be biased especially when using an Iphone in my day to day life. But when using the Lumia 535, I tried to keep an open mind and forget about my Iphone. As I didn't have a sim in the phone, I could only use it to a certain extent, but nevertheless I tried to get the most out of it.

There are various features that Microsoft point out, such as the camera and Cortana that make this phone what it is. And I can tell you, they are not wrong. With being an Iphone user, I obviously have used Siri, and everyone knows that Siri doesn't always get what you say right, and is good but isn't great. Cortana on the other hand is amazing, Cortana picked up every single thing I said, got relevant searches for me and even sang me a song.

Another amazing feature is the camera. It's a shame because I received the phone during January which was my crazy assignment period in uni, so I couldn't go out and take amazing photos like I wanted to. I took a few on the front camera and I was happily impressed.

The things I don't like about this phone are that I found it hard to adjust to the keyboard just because it is so different to my Iphone and also the phone is quite large, because I have such small hands I found it quite difficult to comfortably hold.

If I was to get a new phone that wasn't an Iphone, I would definitely go for the Lumia 535, it covers all the boxes that I feel i would need when looking for a phone, and it always comes in various different colours meaning it can suit anyone!

Currently Loving & Update | Abi Street

Huge apologies for being so crappy lately, I have been feeling a bit under the weather and have had had absolutely no motivation for blogging what so ever. I have had an extremely stressful January, and February is jam packed with exciting things that I seem to be a bit out of the loop of everything.

As I'm currently lacking a lot of inspiration, I thought I would just do a post of things that I'm loving at the moment.

1. Benefit Roller Lash - Now every girl on the earth went out and bought Elle when it was released with a free Roller Lash! I am obsessed with this, it makes my lashes so long and curly and lasts all day! I will definitely be purchasing the full sized product.

2. Valentines Day - I am a huge lover of valentines day, Whether you're in a relationship or single, I think everyone should make the most of valentines day. Heart print everything, definitely for me!!

3. Contouring - Recently I have been absolutely loving contouring, although I may not be the best at it, I am getting there. It makes my make-up look so much nicer. I'm currently using the Seventeen Contouring Palette.

4. Daisy Dream - Now as you all know, I recently treated myself to Daisy Dream and I am so in love with it, I have been spraying it at every single chance I get, which isn't so good because it will definitely need repurchasing soon!!

5. Comic Relief  Great British Bake Of - I'm so happy that GBBO is back!! Mary Berry is absolutely adorable, I literally want to be her when I'm an elderly lady. And can I just say, how good are the celebs they have chosen for the Comic Relief specials? The first episode was absolutely hilarious! If you haven't watched it, you definitely should.

6. Mini Eggs - My favourite chocolate ever, I am so so happy they're back! I may have already eaten a few to many packets *insert pig emoji*

7. Pretty Little Liars - I recently got into the PLL obsession and I am hooked! I'm not going to give too much away because I don't want to release any spoilers! I'm on season 3 now and have been watching it everyday! The only way I can describe it, is a spooky Gossip Girl hah!!

Just so everyone is aware, there will be no blog posts next week because i'm jetting off to Amsterdam with my best friends, but I am going to be taking lots and lots of photos so will be doing an Amsterdam post when I'm back.

I hope you all have a wonderful valentines day and a lovely week!

Valentines Guest Post by Cristina Nika Kask | Abi Street

Hello Abi Street readers! My name is Cristina Nika Kask, an aspiring fashion and lifestyle blogger from Sydney. I wish to thank Abi for letting me guest post for her wonderful blog (THANK YOU ABI! xoxo) and wish all of you a very happy Valentine's Day! Stay in love with your significant other or even only yourself, sit back and enjoy the lemonade life gave you! x

Valentine's Day Style Inspiration
With the Valentine’s Day just around the corner, women all over the world are starting to panic because of the ancient curse: there you have it, a full wardrobe and absolutely nothing to wear. No need to panic, we assure you that the boys are in worse place than you with the pressure to be more romantic than they usually are. While they’re sweating over dinner reservations, boxes of chocolates, and romantic gifts, let’s dive in our closets in search for the perfect Valentine’s Day outfit.

Romantic dinner
This is the most common scenario for the most romantic day of the year – a candlelight dinner with your significant other. If you don't want to just "do dinner", maybe try something more memorable. What to wear to look better than ever? You can never go wrong with a dress, of course, but it is up to you to see which style and colour you prefer. If you’re sick of seeing red all around you, opt for girly pink or seductive black instead. Add a flashy lipstick and a statement necklace, spice it all up with a classy pair of stilettos and – voila, you are ready to take his breath away.

Girl’s night out
In case you decided to spend this day with your girlfriends instead, you can choose something a little less glamorous and a little bit more comfy. You can wear your favourite pair of jeans, black lace shirt and a cardigan.

Layers always work,  they make you look good and feel comfy at the same time. The best thing is that you can either wear heels or flats, it makes no difference. Match your make-up with your outfit, pick up your loveliest handbag  and you’ll be ready to rock the city with your girls.

Exotic destinations
If you are among the lucky ones who decided to swap the chilly winter for the hot sun, burning sand and cool sea water – we envy you endlessly! To honour this cold, February holiday you can choose to wear red bikini on the beach, or pick a romantic colour and design among your beach kaftans

For more chillier nights, pair a shorter one with tights, sky high boots, and a blazer . Colourful beach kaftans, bikinis, and sunglasses equal – looking fab on your romantic holiday!

A casual night in
It can be a drag seeing all those people fretting over dinner reservations and flowers. Why not keep it casual and comfy instead? Even if you're having a casual night in, you can allow yourself the luxury of looking stylish and feeling comfortable at the same time. Pick your white jeans from the closet, put on an oversized sweater with some cute print on, pick your hair up in a messy bun and just enjoy.

It doesn't matter who you’re going to spend this Valentine’s Day with, but how good you are going to feel. Decide to disregard anything that doesn't suite you and just be your usual, fabulous self. Have a wonderful and loving Valentine's day!

Valentines Gift Guide For Her | Abi Street

With Valentines day creeping up on us (a bit too fast for my liking), I thought I would do two valentines gift guides, one for her and one for him (Up next week). This is for anyone that may be struggling to buy a present for their loved one, or even just wants to treat themselves.

First there is Retro Sweets, I think this is such a cute little gift. Full of classic sweets, this is perfect for anyone with a sweet tooth. This is on my personal wishlist, but I the FujiFilm Instax Mini is such a lovely gift for Valentines day. Perfect for creating instant memories with your loved one. I absolutely love the Olivia Burton Watches, the powder blue watch will look lovely throughout the spring, so what a better time to receive it as a gift? I fell in love with the Charlotte Tilbury Gift Set - Vamp Kiss, when I saw it. This is a great gift for any makeup lover, the vamp shade is gorgeous.

In my eyes there is nothing better than doing something with your loved one, by getting a Virgin Experience Day, you are able to choose from hundreds of experiences, from pamper days to bungee jumping. Now what valentines day would be complete without a Pandora Ring, I have this ring myself (Luca got it for me a while ago, bless him) and I absolutely love it. It is adorable and a great valentines gift. Also the complete series of Gossip Girl is on Netflix, I personally love having DVD's. Everyone is obsessing over Gossip Girl, and if you aren't obsessing, you should be!! The Gossip Girl Box Set is a perfect gift. And last by not least, the gorgeous Makeup Revolution Blushing Hearts - Candy Queen Of Hearts. This is so beautiful and fabulous quality, a must in every girls makeup bag.

What Would You Do If You Weren't Afraid? | Abi Street

So on Friday night I slept at Luca's house, had a lovely evening with him, took all my makeup off before I went to bed, regardless of my skin being awful but it's fine because I know Luca loves me regardless of having makeup on or not.

But the next day when I started getting ready for work I realised that I forgot to bring my makeup bag. I felt suddenly really anxious the fact I had to go to work all day with no makeup, and when I say no makeup, I literally had no concealer, no mascara or anything. A completely bare face.

This got me thinking that it is actually so bad that I felt ashamed to have no makeup on and not having any blemishes covered. Yet about 7 years ago I would go out with absolutely no makeup on and not bat an eyelid.

I think that in 2015 it is awful that young girls like me, feel like they can't go out and be comfortable with no makeup on. I'm not saying that every girl doesn't feel comfortable because I know girls that wear no makeup at all and always look beautiful. But it's just because I have been wearing makeup for so many years and an involved in an environment where it's the normal thing to wear makeup every single day.

Whilst I was at work there were points that I felt really insecure and that people were really staring at me, and a few comments like 'Are you okay Abi? You don't look great', did make me feel a bit crappy. But after a while I completely forget that I didn't have any makeup on at all, and I did start to feel really comfortable. The best thing about this whole thing, is that I didn't have to spend ages taking my makeup off before I got into bed.

I'm not to sure where I am going with this but I feel like it is so important that every girl needs to realise they are beautiful. Regardless of having a few blemishes. Being comfortable in your own skin should come before everything because at the end if the day, it's you who has to live in your skin and see yourself everyday.

Because of this whole experience, I feel like I actually want to start going maybe one day a week with no makeup on, regardless of where I am going. It definitely made me feel more confident, and was so good for my skin.
