Easter Nests | Abi Street

As its Easter Sunday today, I thought I would upload a baking posts. Now please bare with me as this is the first baking post I have ever done, I literally had no idea what I was doing. I don't have a beautiful kitchen with loads of light and large spaces for photos. I live in a dingy student house with a not so fabulous kitchen. So it really was working with what i've got.

You have to eat a cornflake cake, or shredded wheat nest around the easter period, it literally is the rules. Me and Ellie decided to make shredded wheat easter nests - probably the easiest thing to make, but super cute and yummy.

What you'll need:
200g Milk Chocolate
85g Shredded Wheat
Two bags of Mini Eggs

1. Break the chocolate up into small chunks and melt. This can be done via two different methods. Method one, put it into a microvable bowl and place into the microwave for short periods of time, i.e 20 seconds, take the bowl out and stir and keep doing this until the chocolate is fully melted. Method two, fill a glass bowl with your chocolate chunks and place over a pan of water that is simmering on the hob, be sure that the bowl doesn't touch the water. Stir chocolate until fully melted then take off the heat.

2. Crush Shredded Wheat into the melted chocolate and stir until all of the Shredded Wheat is covered in chocolate. Me and Ellie didn't actually measure the Shredded Wheat, We just went with the flow at this point.

4. Spoon the mixture into cupcake cases until you have the desired amount. To help the Mini Eggs stay in place, gently press down the centre making a little dip for the Mini Eggs to rest in.

5. Place 3 Mini Eggs on top of each nest. (Having two bags is great because there will be Mini Eggs left over, meaning you can have a few whilst going along)

6. Place in the fridge for about 2-3 hours until they're set.

7. Enjoy with a lovely cup of tea!
