Shows You Should Binge Watch On Netflix

Since I left university, I am well over my going out out days. I love going to the pub with friends and family to get merry, but I also very much enjoy being home and in my pjs by 10pm. Now that we are fully into the swing of winter (can you believe how cold it is?!), it is more than acceptable to change into my pyjamas as soon as I'm home from work. Yes that does mean that by 6pm I am ready for bed. Not only does this mean ultimate comfort, but it means I can fully enjoy nights in with my favourite winter foods, and indulge in one to many episodes of a box set snuggled on the sofa with James.

Panasonic got in contact with me asking if I would like to help promote one of their latest TV's the Ultra HD 4K TV Panasonic. I obviously jumped to this opportunity because I bloody love TV! For this post, I'm going to be talking about everything I've been binge watching on Netflix. Although Autumn/Winter TV schedule is always jam packed with top tv, think I'm A Celeb and X Factor, there is always time to squeeze in an episode or five of a netflix series.

5 Tips To Change Your Style

Well this feels strange.. If you're a regular reader of my blog, you may have noticed that I haven't posted for a month. After writing the post, Falling Out Of Love With Life, I felt extremely low. Despite receiving so many wonderful and supportive messages (Thank you if you have been lush to me, you have no idea how much it means), I just felt a bit empty. I decided to take some time out, to just step back and gain some perspective on everything. Although I'm still not feeling 100%, I am slowly getting there. I am now taking lots of small steps to final feel content with every aspect of my life.

Skincare Routine For Problematic Skin

If you are a regular reader of my blog, you will be aware that I have acne and am forever looking for ways to fix my blemish prone skin and leave me feeling confident and satisfied with how my skin looks. I have tried various different products that claim to work, yet for me nothing has really worked.

If you read my Kiehl's post, you will know that I had a skin consultation and found out exactly the sort of products I should be using, and an ideal skincare routine that should work for me, resulting in hydrated and blemish free skin. As I wasn't able to afford any of the Kiehl's products at the time, I decided to try and stick with the skincare routine I was recommended but with products I already had in my cupboard so I wouldn't break the bank.

I'm going to give a little rundown of my skincare routine, both evening and morning - I've been doing this for about three weeks now and I have definitely noticed a difference in my skin. Although my skin isn't fully clear yet, I think this is mainly due to other factors now, it has improved so so much since I've been doing this routine. I would put before and after photos on so you can really see the improvement, but I physically could't bare to do that, soz

Step One

The first step of my evening routine is too take off my eye makeup. I use Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water. I just put the cleansing water onto a cotton pad and wipe over my eyes until all of my makeup is removed. This works really well for me, it removes all traces of my eye makeup, and doesn't leave an oil residue like previous eye makeup removers I've used.

Falling Out Of Love With Life

If you follow me on Twitter you may be aware that just over two months ago, I unexpectedly lost my job.  I'm not going to go into detail of what happened as it isn't professional for any future employment opportunities, and to be honest, I re-live the moment/feelings daily at the moment and I feel writing it down will make me feel even worse than I already do.

Although I don't want this post to be extremely negative. I feel as though I need some sort of closure  as what has happened has seriously effected my mental health. I want to be able to look back at this post when I'm struggling and know that if I can get through what has been possibly the darkest two months of my life, I can get through anything. Once addressing how I feel, I want to focus on good things and how I'm going to get myself back on the road to happiness.

Learning All Things Skincare with Kiehl's

A couple of weeks ago, I attended the Kiehl's Cardiff blogger event. It was the first time I'd been to a Kiehl's event, and actually the first time I'd ever been in the store. Because I have bad acne, I often feel intimidated when I approach skincare stores as I always feel like they're going to judge me for having bad skin. However, I actually left the event feeling a lot more confident and felt like I had an insight on how to tackle my problematic skin that would actually work.

The first part of the event consisted of wandering round the store, with a lavender prosecco in hand, thanks Pitch BarI stuck with my blogging babes (Laura, AbiPaige and Jessie) and had a nose at the vast range of products that Kiehl's have in store, everything from anti ageing products to a hydration focused section, to an entire range of men's skincare. There is something for every skin type in store.

How To Feel Comfortable Whilst On Your Period

Hopefully the title of this post hasn't scared you away and to be honest, it shouldn't. A period is an extremely normal thing that us women have to deal with monthly, for the majority of our lives. Period talk is something that is often seen as a taboo subject because it's 'gross' or seen as too personal.. Well I'm definitely ready for that to change. If you're a man reading this, obviously this post isn't going to apply to you... However, if you have a female significant other in your life, this post may actually be helpful for any males out there that want to make their lovely ladies time of the month that little bit easier to deal with.

Now ladies, some of you are blessed with an easy time of the month, pain free, no PMS, still perfect skin, some of us however, including myself aren't let off so easily. I'm very aware when I'm due on my period as my skin becomes horrific, and considering I have acne, it is a lot worse that it usually is, I can also be faced with the worst stomach cramps (Girls, you will know what I mean when I say it feels like satan has a grip of my womb) and spend about 4/5 days on a rollercoaster of emotion, sorry James.

It is a pretty shitty time of the month for some of us, but hopefully I can give you some tips that will make that time of the month slightly more bearable.

Books That You Need On Your Shelf

Cast your mind back to the beginning of the year when everyone was making new years resolutions that they'd never stick to. Well I've been determined to stick to mine this year, so far I've been doing pretty well. I've been on various trips around the UK, sadly none abroad yet, I've been acing self love, I've seen a ton of amazing live music and now I'm finally back into loving reading and I've picked out some of my favourite books that I've read this year, also one from last year but thats fine!

Reading is something I have always loved since a young age, maybe because I've grown up around my mother, who is an avid reader, honestly she sometimes has about 3 books on the go at once. I remember when I was younger during the summer holidays, I would constantly go to the library and do their reading challenges! I absolutely loved it. As an adult, reading is a pure form of escapism, something tv, film and the internet can't give me. I am sucked into someone else's world and forget all of the crappy things happening in this world for a short amount of time.

Presenting The Beauty Salon Of Dreams

So you may remember be talking about getting an LVL lash treatment done by the lovely Alice Molyneux at House of Beauty. Well there has been a little change to House of Beauty, the business once co-owned by Alice has now come to an end. After two years of success, the girls have decided to go their separate ways and start new ventures.

Welcome Cherry-B Beauty. Alice has created her own new salon based in Caerphilly. It is the most instagrammable salon ever, with to die for pattern floor, the cutest mugs and the prettiest shelving display, I spent ages just taking photos and nosing around before my treatment had even started! If you're based in South Wales, you definitely need to head to Cherry-B Beauty for all of your treatments.

Adding Personal Touches To Your Home

If you've read my Learning To Live Alone post, you'll be aware that I live on my own in a one bed flat. In that post, I gave some tips on how to deal with being a one man/woman band and how to make your living area a little more like home. One of the things I touched on was getting creative and I have done this through making collages on cork boards with lots of little mementos from my life.

Now, if you're like me you're constantly taking photos of things, just so you don't forget them in the future and can look back on all your lush photos from your younger years. This is great, it allows me to be creative and to be able to look back at hilarious things, however it means I have about a zillion photos on my laptop and iMac (which I must add, aren't the same photos) and I constantly have about 2000 photos on my camera roll. This can be an absolute pain in the ass. Truth be told, I never really look back through the ones on my laptop or my iMac, only if i'm really searching for something and also get annoyed when my phone memory is full.

This is where is comes to printing of your favourite photos and the lovely brand Printiki.

Finding An Affordable Signature Scent

If you're anything like me, you have a ton of perfume bottles that you've collected through various birthdays and Christmases, that you proudly display somewhere in your humble abode. Again, if you're anything like me, most of these bottles are drastically lacking in containing actual perfume. In about 8 bottles of perfume that I own, combined there is probably only about half a bottles worth..

This is where it comes down to finding an affordable signature scent. Now, I bloody love Marc Jacobs, Hugo Boss and Paco Rabanne, if I'm ever lusting over perfume, it is definitely those three brands that I am reaching for. However, this is extremely costly, and for someone like me that doesn't have a large income, this is a problem.

Have you ever thought about heading to your favourite high street shop for a fragrance?

Being Receptive To Joy

There are times in life when you feel like you're on a downward spiral, whether it is a day, a week, a month or a year (Anyone else just start singing the Friends theme tune? Nope.. Just me?). It is very easy to get stuck in a rut, and for someone with anxiety, like me, it is extremely easy to fall into a negative mindset. I am currently in this mindset. I'm in quite a shitty period of my life, if you follow me on Twitter, you probably know why.. Despite trying to get out of this mindset, it is extremely difficult.

Improving my anxiety is always at the forefront of my mind, and no matter how anxious I feel, I always try to remember how far I have come - which is a hell of a long way. There are various things I do to attempt to minimize my anxiety; talking to loved ones about how I feel, using apps such as Calm and Headspace, exercising etc etc. One thing that I find particularly useful is to focus on the little things that happen daily that often slip straight past us. One of my favourite bloggers, Melissa  Media Marmalade, recently wrote two incredible blog posts #1, #2 that really struck a cord with me, and completely inspired me to write this.

Getting Picture Perfect Hair With Structure

Do you know what is annoying? When you spend 30 minutes perfectly curling your hair, looking in the mirror and wanting to self five (I hope at least one person got my How I Met Your Mother reference) at how awesome your hair looks. Then leaving the house with your head held high, 10 minutes later seeing your reflection in a car window to see your once perfect hair, is now limp and straighter than GHD could ever imagine!

No matter how many bottles of hairspray I have been through, or how many different brands I have tried, nothing works.. and I mean literally nothing. I was recently contacted to see if I wanted to try out some Structure products, after a browse at their website, I knew I just had to try them out. I chose three products to try, Beach Texture Spray*, Transform Spray Clay* and Animate Bodifying Styling Creme*. My go to hair look is a loose wave and I thought these three products would help me achieve the perfect look.

The One Where We Went To Friends Fest...

*Prepare yourself for a photo heavy post*

If you follow me on Instagram, you will be aware that I recently went to Friends Fest in Cardiff. As far as I am aware this is the second summer that Friends Fest has been running in the UK? I remember seeing a ton of posts from people last year and was insanely jealous! However this year, smug old me nabbed tickets as soon as I could for myself and James. We absolutely love Friends so we were super excited to go and explore all of the sets and take a ton of photos (Me, more so than James).

Purchasing The Perfect Gift For Any Occassion

It seems that no matter what time of year, there are always gifts to be bought for people - whether that be a birthday, anniversary, Christmas, Valentines Day or various other special occasions. If you know me personally, you'll know that I absolutely love buying gifts. No matter who it's for, I'll always get carried away, buy a ton of things that aren't necessary but I can't put down because it just reminded me of the person when I saw it. Honestly, it's quite a bad trait for me, because it means that I always end up spending a money.

When it comes to gift giving, I like to give personal, sentimental gifts. So the receiver really knows that I put my all into it and really did take the time to think about what they would want and love. Not to blow my own trumpet, but I am a bloody good gift giver. There is nothing I love more, than hunting for the perfect gift for someone, whether that mean spending ages in quirky little shops in arcades, or scrolling through endless gift websites until something perfect catches my eye.

Uncommon Goods is a site that has everything from kitchen accessories to jewellery, a scarf for your dog, literally everything! When looking for all your gifts at once, websites like Uncommon Goods are the perfect place - a one stop shop! One of my favourite things about Uncommon Goods is their values, meaning that although you're spending, your money is being used for the good. For example, Uncommon Goods stock handmade, recycled and organic products, and they've never sold a product that contains leather, feathers or fur! As well as this, they started a Better To Give programme in which you can select a non profit organisation of your choice to donate money at the checkout! Not only do you get amazing products, you feel good that you're giving back!

Learning To Live Alone

Whilst growing up, I realised how important it is to enjoy your own company. Many childhoods are filled with constantly being surrounded by people, whether that be at school, going to your friends' house for tea, spending time with your family around the dinner table, drinking a litre of cider in the park, that cost £3 and you had to convince your older sibling to buy because you were underage, to doing your weekly food shop with your university housemates.

Only a snapshot of moments from your adolescence are spent alone, and to be frank, they're probably your lowest moments - for me this means shutting yourself away in your bedroom and crying because things are getting that little bit too much, to sitting in silence stressing about an essay that's due faster than words you can type.

2017 So Far

I want to start this post by saying, how on earth is it nearly August???? I know everyone says this, but I cannot believe how bloody fast this year is going. Everything is flashing before my eyes which is completely overwhelming.

Recently, my anxiety is all over the place. I've literally been up and down like a yo-yo and had no idea why. Thinking about it now, it could potentially be because time is flying by and I feel like I don't have control of it. Now I'm working 9-5, I do tend to find myself living for the weekend - despite trying to fill my weeknight evenings after reading Sophie's post and always hating the idea for only truly fulfilling two days of a week. I feel like time is slipping through my fingers.

Because of this, I decided to do a reflection post of 2017 so far. At the beginning of the year, I wrote a post about my goals for the year

My LVL Experience at House of Beauty

For my entire life, I have always been envious of people who have long, lucious lashes - it's something that I definitely wasn't blessed with growing up.. Instead, I was blessed with short, straight eyelashes, that cannot hold a curl. Another thing I wasn't blessed with, was the ability to apply false eyelashes. My eyes are always too small for lash sizes, and despite my attempts of cutting them to size, they would never hold to my eyes, or start to fall off about an hour after wear. I have tried various styles, brands and sizes of lashes, but nothing ever lasts long. So I gave up, and instead I learned to live with the lashes I was given, until...

I found the LVL Lash Lift!!

Why I Value Friendships I've Created Through Blogging

When you're a child, you can't wait to grow up. The thought of living with your friends, or on your own sounds amazing, finding a boyfriend/girlfriend and falling in love is the absolutely dream, and the thought of having your own house and spending weekends decorating with your loved one is something you spend hours daydreaming about.. When in reality, adulthood is pretty bloody difficult isn't it.. Of course, there are tons of incredible moments, but I think every single one of us sometimes daydreams about how simple life was back then.. instead of worrying about if you'll ever be able to buy a house, which party to vote for in the election, or if you'll be stuck in the job, that is bareale, but not the job you dreamed it would be..

I think the most prominent thing changes between being a child and an adult, (apart from the obvious things of course) is the ability to make friends. When you're a child it is the easiest thing, you approach someone you like the look of, ask if you can play and there we are, before you know it, you're round their house for chicken nuggets and potato smileys. When you reach adulthood it isn't that easy.. sure you can make friends through work, but they're just your work friends. How often as an adult do you create, genuine and meaningful friendships with a stranger? Barely ever. This is where my blog comes into it.

When I first created my blog, I did it because I was fed up of having no hobbies, I wanted to use my creativity somehow, and be able to express my feelings and opinions on things through an outlet that seems somewhat therapeutic. I first created my blog in 2013, and I never knew how much blogging would grow, and become something that is clearly seen in the mainstream media. One thing, that I didn't ever dream of, is that it would allow me to create some of the most genuine and trustworthy friendships I've ever had.

Breakout Cardiff Review

I was recently invited along to try out the Breakout Rooms* in Cardiff. I went along with my blogging bestie Laura (who is bloody lush, and you should 100% follow). I've wanted to try an 'escape room' for so long, but just never had the chance. Both myself and Laura had no idea what we were in for.

We decided to make an afternoon/evening of it, and went for coffee first in one of my favourite spots in Cardiff - Uncommon Ground. It is based in one of the arcades (couldn't tell you which one, because we got lost when I tried to get us there). I opted for a latte and a Bacon and Brie panini and Laura had a coke. We decided to look up Breakout Cardiff, and find more information about the room we were due to tackle, the 'Cursed Carnival' room. Now, i'm sure you can picture what we were like, even just seeing the name of the room haha!! We were immediately nervous for what we had got ourselves into.

A Note To My Father

I recently wrote a note to my mother  for Mother's Day, so I thought i'd do the same for Fathers Day. Since being a baby, I have always been a Daddy's Girl. My dad has always been my best friend, and I've told him everything from a young age. No matter what, he will always be the most important man in my life.

#BlogAtTheBeach with Ice Lolly Holiday

I recently had an invite to #BlogAtTheBeach event by Ice Lolly Holiday. Once I saw this I signed up straight away and then asked my blog friends if anyone else was going. One of my best friends and amazing blogger Laura told me she was also going. After getting all excited with her about the event, I realised that it was actually being held in Leeds. Instead of this putting me off, I got more excited. It was the perfect chance for a weekend away with my best friends, to a city I've been longing to go to for ages!! I decided to let another of my best friends and amazing blogger, Jess know, making it a full girls weekend away!!

The Most Special Birthday With Spectrum Brushes

So on May 24th it was my 22nd birthday and I have to say, it was the best birthday I have had in my entire life. I had spent the beginning of the week back in Bristol with my friends and family which was lovely considering I rarely go back to Bristol anymore - I am fully adopted Welsh now. I was feeling super positive and couldn't wait to get to my actual birthday as I had the best plans lined up. I was invited to the first ever Cardiff Spectrum Brushes event by the most beautiful, down to earth team ever. Not only had I been invited, but a ton of my lovely blogger best friends had been invited too. We were so excited to finally catch up after spending hours talking to each other on WhatsApp.

Learning When To Take Time Out

I am 21, I have a bachelors degree, I started my career with a bang in a pretty impressive building, to build my experience further I did a three month internship on top of my full time job, i'm trying to blog with fairly decent content, keep up my social media platforms, maintain both close and long distance friendships and keep a positive mental attitude. Now, reading that I realise that I have a ton of stuff going on, and it really does take its toll on both my physical and mental health.

At the beginning of the year, I wrote about my new years resolutions , one of the goals I was aiming to achieve by the end of the year was to take more time out to focus on self love. I have to say that I am excelling at this. I've learnt the importance of self love, and how much better it can make me feel. For me, self love doesn't always mean having a pamper evening, or getting a good nights sleep. Although they're both important for your well being, I think there are different things that can add to your self love. I will give you an insight to the things I have been doing to improve myself as a young woman learning to get the best out of life.

Bootlegger Bar Cardiff Review

I bloody love a blogger event, and in my time I've been to a few cool ones. But in Cardiff, I always find that their either aren't any happening or I'm always at work when they're on. A couple of weeks ago, I was finally free for a blogger event and I am so so glad I got to go because I made some lovely friends and tasted some amazing cocktails.

So, a bit of background. Bootlegger is a jazz, swing and 50's rock and roll themed bar. It is located on Womanby Street (Where Full Moon used to be) opposite Clwb Ifor Bach. We were greeted outside the the owner of the bar, Lee. He explained to us that Bootlegger was formed in Bristol and is very successful. Bootlegger opened in Cardiff about two weeks ago now and has already had 2000 people through its doors.

We were so eager to get inside and have a look round. I absolutely loved the decor of the bar, it was full of hanging lights, brickwork and photos. There are two main bars inside, the Gin Bar and then the Moonshine Bar. We headed down to the Moonshine Bar after taking a ton of photos inside.

A Note To My Mother

When I was younger, I don’t think I ever fully appreciated my mother, the time she puts into looking out for me, and always ensuring I’m okay. As the years have passed and I’ve had to deal with some pretty shitty things in my life. No matter what, my mum is always by my side ready to wipe away the tears, make me a cup of tea and cuddle me until I’m okay.

On Trend With Boohoo

As you all know by now Boohoo is one of my favourite brands. They recently got in touch with me to collaborate again which I was super super excited about. A recent trend that everyone will have seen by now is wearing lingerie as outwear. I was super excited about this and the outfit I was able to create for this campaign.

I tried to pick items that worked together, that I loved and felt comfortable in and that were on trend. I absolutely love the way this outfit turned out and will definitely be wearing this again and again.

My Everyday Makeup

I love wearing makeup everyday, it makes me feel confident, covers my flaws and allows me to change my look everyday. I'm not the best at doing incredible eyeshadow etc, one thing I am good at is basics. My go to makeup look is winged eyeliner - i've been rocking the winged liner since I was 13 and used to listen to My Chemical Romance. Since then i've hugely improved my eyeliner and could probably do a wing with my eyes closed.

Embroidery Obsessed

A trend that is already my favourite of 2017 is embroidery. I want every item I own to have floral embroidery. I think it is absolutely beautiful and really adds something to any item. At the moment every piece of clothing that I see and love is embroidered. This outfit is double embroidery, which some may say is too far but for me, can you ever have too much of something you love? No. (Unless it's chocolate and it makes you vom.)

The Year Ahead

Today is the first day of 2017 and I feel a good time to reflect. This year has been a whirlwind with lots of great moments that I will look back on for the rest of my life, but also lots of dark moments that I hope to learn from and keep in my past. In this blog post I want to reflect on my favourite moments of 2016 and set my goals to achieve in 2017.
